TURKEY EXPORT TO IRAQ

General statement of imports from Turkey to Iraq


Iraq has a very important place in Turkey's foreign trade, especially in its exports. In Turkey's exports, Iraq ranked 2nd in the 2011-2014 period, 3rd in the 2015-2016 period, and 4th in the 2017-2019 period.

Turkey's exports to Iraq reached its highest level in 2013 with approximately 12 billion dollars. In the years after 2014, it was around 9 billion dollars.


Which products are imported by Iraq from Turkey?


Turkey exports mostly sunflower oil, jewellery, wheat flour, iron-steel rods, chicken meat, insulated cables and wires, iron-steel construction and parts, furniture, eggs, ready-made clothing, biscuits, hygienic towels and diapers, citrus fruits, iron-steel pipes and profile, woven carpet, plastic pipe, processed stone for construction, chocolate products, plastic construction material and tomato to Iraq. Iraq does not have an important place in Turkey's imports.

Turkey, Iran, China and the USA are the leading countries from which Iraq imports. Petroleum oils and gold have the most important place in Turkey's imports from Iraq.

Erdogan: We see that we can easily reach a trade volume of 20 billion dollars with Iraq

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan affırmed in 2020 that Turkey can easily reach a trade volume of 20 billion dollars with Iraq

"We see that we can easily reach our target of 20 billion dollars trade volume with Iraq," said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the press conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi.

In his speech here, Erdogan said, "We attach importance to the preservation of Iraq's political unity and territorial integrity. We are ready to make any contribution within the framework of its reconstruction."

Iraqi Prime Minister Kazimi said, "Turkey is one of our most important economic partners, as it is an important country in the Middle East for us."
